(1) Personal allowance is reduced by £1 for every £2 exceeding £100,000 of 'adjusted net income'. This is irrespective of age or date of birth.
(2) Where 'adjusted net income' is above the income limit the age-related allowance is reduced by £1 for every £2 of excess income, until it is reduced to the basic level (but also see note (1)).
(3) Amount of personal allowance spouses/civil partners born after 5 April 1935 can transfer to basic-rate tax paying spouse/civil partner.
(4) Relief is restricted to a 10% tax credit.
